Madam Tales

I love stories – telling them, listening to them – it’s probably at my core what makes me a pro pitch bitch. If you don’t believe me – ask the 90s Filter Queen Surrey, BC (Wally) “road crew”. If you lived in the Vancouver burbs, Thompson Okanogan, or on Vancouver Island in the early 90s, and bought a Filter Queen; it’s likely this smooth-talking silver-tongued vixen convinced you to let a high-pitched sales peep into your home. At the very least I convinced you that it was a good idea to exchange hours out of your life, for a beautiful hand-painted Egyptian papyrus “artwork”. Let me tell you – that job takes hustle – if you can sell that – you can sell anything.

My introduction to sex work started at the age of 15. I was a Vancouver “800 Block” Granville street kid, newly evicted from my home due to a disagreement with my parents about my right to have a personal choice of religion. My parents were fanatics in what some would call a cult, although the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ official legal designation in Canada is a tax-free religious organization. Best known for inconvenient Saturday morning door Knocks, and in my era hawking The Watchtower & Awake for $0.25 a piece. I would have to admit my natural sales abilities were encouraged, fostered, and supported at this time, more than any academics or “worldly associations”. They also shaped my love life, due to the fetish I acquired during my teenage angst – when I sexualized their deity. I am blessed to have met the love of my life, (who just happens to look like Jesus) and celebrate 26 years of living in sin since 1996.

Always a protective mama bear, with an intense ethical drive – even in my selfish drug-addicted youth I sought to protect my street family, and watch over those I could while they made choices that also put them in danger. From abandoned child, drug addict, and lost soul – to mother, sex worker advocate, and industry leader, my life story has been a road not traveled by many and I look forward to sharing it with you as it blossoms.

In the meantime here is a documentary I was part of about 15 years ago, as I was in the midst of setting up SweetVIPS
